Acapulco Chair vs Innit Chair

When choosing between the round Innit Chair and the oval Acapulco Chair, some might think that because Acapulco is more iconic, it is clearly the right choice. But just because it's the more classic design does not mean that it is the ideal shape for every use or space. The choice is a matter of preference in seating, the mood you seek, and the intended application.

Let’s break it down.

The Acapulco Chair: Relaxed, Iconic, Super-chill

The Acapulco Chair is the ultimate choice for chillin’. Its avocado-shaped design encourages a reclined, gravity-defying seating position, ideal for:
✔ Being alone with a book, a podcast, or a drink in hand
✔ Casual talks that entail little activity
✔ Indoor or outdoor areas in which a traditional, mid-century aesthetic is desirable

The Acapulco chair is perfect for lounging and even 'siesta-ing.

If you are looking for a sit that is slightly more upright and might lead to more engaged conversations, the Innit chair migh be more suitable.

The Innit Chair: Sitting Up, Chatting, a little more unique

For those who enjoy a more interactive sitting experience, the Innit Chair is ideal. In contrast with the Acapulco, which is more appropriate for relaxation.  The rounded hoop shape of the Innit Chair supports the shoulders in a more upright position, making it ideal for:
✔ Social situations in which (showing) engagment in conversation is a key requirement
✔ Reading on a laptop or typing in a loungy yet supportive position
✔ A more unique piece because it offers an alternative from the classic  Acapulco design

Can you have both? Absolutely.

If you can't choose between these two, why not have both?   We also offer the chairs as rockers.  You can have one or some fixed base and others with rocking chair bases. The Acapulco and Innit Chairs look wonderful in combination in the same space, although aesthetically side by side isn’t ideal. Situate them strategically around your room or outdoor area in order to create a more dynamic, more beautiful space.

It really does come down to the position you sit in and the energy you want to cultivate in your space. Need to sit back and relax? Choose the Acapulco. Prefer sitting up straight and staying awake in your lounge chair? The Innit is your best bet. Either way, you’re making a chic, functional choice.
